Ford will preview the production version Transit at the 82nd edition Geneva Motor Show through the Tourneo Custom Concept which adopts the same Kinetic Design language as the company's latest passenger cars.

With the Tourneo Concept the Blue Oval says it has taken a new approach to space, style and functionality by designing the 8-seat people mover with a driver-focused cockpit and creating an all-new luxurious interior that is suitable to both personal use as well as in the executive shuttle sectors.

Some of the features on this concept version include multi-adjustable and removable rear seats, an voice-activated SYNC connectivity system and state of the art driver assist systems.

Under its bonnet there is a 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine producing 155 PS, but once it will hit the European market (later in 2012) as the Transit, the car will be offered with two additional power levels from the same engine (one with 100 PS and one with 125 PS).

Customers will also be able to choose between two wide choice of body styles and two wheelbases (SWB and LWB).

Stephen Odell, chairman and CEO, Ford of Europe said that "Our forthcoming new range gives us the opportunity to appeal to new customers with a fresh new direction, and we have seized that opportunity with both hands.

"We are excited to present this significant new concept in Geneva. The Tourneo Custom's car-like qualities will be appreciated by a broad rangeof business and leisure customers, and this is a fitting venue to present the vehicle for the first time."
